On behalf of the Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation, we would like to sadly announce the passing of Mr. Thach Kinh on Saturday, 20 August 2011 at the age of 57.
Mr. Kinh was one of few individual with a heart of gold. He was a wonderful family man and a very well respected leader of the Khmer Krom community in Adelaide, South Australia.
Originally born in Preah Trapeang (renamed Tra Vinh) to Thach Cu and Kien Thi Muong, Mr. Thach was the eldest of four children. At the age of 18, he entered monk hood until 21 years of age. He was married in 1977 to Tang Thi Thao and together they have five children.
It is true how people say that "it is not how one dies but how one lives that matters". Mr. Kinh will be fondly remembered as a soft spoken man with a mountain of strength, courage and sacrifice in the promotion and protection of the Khmer-Krom identity within Adelaide and back home.
We offer our sincere condolences to Mrs. Thao and her immediate family. We pray that you will find the courage to get through this difficult time.
