On Monday, 23 July 2012, around 4pm (New York time), at the headquarter of the United Nations, the member states of ECOSOC will start debating and decided to vote.
- 14 countries (United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, etc..) voted to support KKF.
- 27 countries (Philippine, Indonesia, China, Russia, Cuba, etc...) voted in favor of Vietnam.
- 10 countries (Australia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, etc...) did not vote (Abstain)
Even KKF does not receive the consultative status for ECOSOC this year, but the whole world knows what KKF is advocating for and why Vietnam has spent too much efforts to silence KKF at ECOSOC. Vietnam accuses KKF, but the big countries like Canada, US, UK, France, Germany, Italy would not believe it. Many thanks to those countries for standing firm with KKF to promote the freedom and justice for the voiceless Khmer-Krom in Vietnam.
KKF will continue working hard to show to the world communities, especially to the countries that voted in favor for Vietnam this time, that KKF is not an organization as Vietnam accused. The issues that KKF has reported are the truth about human rights violations against the voiceless Khmer-Krom in Vietnam.
